The Christmas season seems to be less and less about Christ and more and more about credit cards. I find this sad and stressfull especially when you don't have money to burn. What do you do to avoid the pressure to buy, buy, buy. The stores start putting out Christmas stuff the day after Halloween!

My children are the main focus of any Christmas shopping I do. My husband and I started with our first child only 3 gifts at Christmas. Baby Jesus only recieved 3 gifts, what makes us any better then him and deserve more? Now that they are older they get to choose if they want mom and dad to buy 3 gifts or if they want to ask Santa for 3 gifts. Normally they sucker us in to 3 from each. Which is ok. We would normally do that anyways. and I just make sure to not hit the malls shopping. They seem to be money pits. Unless I cant find something and a store there has it. Thats when I take the hubby and he keeps me in check. No credit card this way.. Cash and carry for me...

I start buying Christmas presents right after Christmas so by the time it comes around again I don't have to get out in the crowds.
