great question! I would say probably the pager and cell phone. It gave people the impression that you should be at their beck and call. In the old days, if you called someone and they weren't home, you left a message or tried them later. Now, people get upset if they can't reach you. Sometimes you just want a moment to yourself, but because they know they are calling your cell, they think they should be able to get you whenever, wherever. I would not un-invent the cell phone, because I love it, but I would change it to where people don't know if a particular number they are calling is a cell or what. I would also change people's attitudes about them. I'm not sure exactly where I am going with this...... lol

I'd reinvent mobile phones so that they only go off once an hour, turn off if somebody speaks too loud, turn off if the conversation has no value whatsoever apart from stupid small-talk, don't play tinny-sounding commercialistic cr*p, don't work in the hands of anybody under 20 and don't work in any public place.
