It was in the time of reformation,enlightment, rennaissance etc. when Gutemberg developed book press, and naturally he chose the most popular book of that time.
The invention of press lower the ocst of book making (before it was copiied manualy), so in renaissance time it was not only noble people and priests who could ove books. If I remeber well, an everage of book in a houshold was 4 afrter book press was invented! So it helped the enlightment and bringing the world to the place we are now.
