There are a lot of opinions out there about why children become bullies and I want to know what you think. Were you bullied? Or were YOU a bully? What happened? I was bullied and it had an impact on my life.

Stupidity, low self-esteem and ignorance make people bullies at least that's what I think.I've never been bullied, and I never was a bully.I have gotten talked about, but everybody has at least once.Plus I really don't care about what other people think.I'm sorry you got bullied.

I was bullied as a kid. When I was about nine years old (fourth grade), I quit the AG (academically gifted) program. Kids used to call me stupid and throw stuff at me. Middle school it got worse. When I was eleven I was called things like "whore" and "stupid Mexican" and other names I didn't even know the meaning of at the time. This sort of abuse continued throughout middle school, and if I told any teacher or principal, I'd only be bullied more. My mother taught me that if I let that kind of stuff get to me, I'm only letting the bullies win. That's how I coped.

i beat up bullies at school. you could say that i bullied them. but really i was defending the people who were getting bullied. i know it's not justified but it stopped the victims from getting it. and there was nobody who would take me on! i wanted the bullies to feel what they were doing to the others. i hated seeing people cowering in the corners from people. although i suppose that thats what the bullies did from me. i felt i had accomplished something and that iw was doing the right thing after all they were the ones who were being evil and i just looked out for the small people!

In a word... parents!

I was bullied in high school. I was threatened with being beat up almost every day. Finally, my mom called her mom, and the bullies' mom threatened to come over and beat up my mom. Enough said?

i think it is sometimes caused by the environment... my daughter plays with my husbands cousins & she was always bullied the 2 girls (ages 6 & 9). later on, she learned how to turn the tables back to them... i'm so sad as i see her having to defend herself so i always take her with me which my husband disagrees as he thinks my 3 yr old should be strong & smart enough to stand up on her own.... am i wrong??? sorry to answer your question with another question...
