I mean, God is a father of humanity. As the father of a civilization that is on the way to destruction and doom, do you think he is dissapointed in his children in any way? I mean, if you were a mom or dad of a kid that invented drugs, tried to annhialte a fellow family member, or even lost faith in his own parents, what would you think?
Ps I'm atheist, I'm really looking forward to Christian opinions. I really don't get the whole concept of religion.

Well done Holmes (Tom B). Insightive as that retort may be, I have yet to be entertained.

you are obviously asking this question just for entertainment value, not because it means anything to you. but I think God is not disappointed in himself, just us for not taking advantage of all the wonderful opportunities to improve ourselves he puts before us.

Agh!! Most of us don't know God. All we are doing is using our small tool, called the brain to make imagination possible and the story starts with that star called "the GOD"...
In the end it's just a word and everyone interprets it in a different way...

Have you had these feelings when you discover something brilliant (a feeling or just realize something just now, which was actually always there, and are on cloud nine...) I would describe that as small taste of God. This makes it possible for me to believe we are far from knowing him and should shut our mouths when trying to analyse GOD.

This all is then my humble opinion. And by the way I became myself an atheist yesterday. Thought will use my fresh Christian opinions still...

wow, interesting Q.

I would say that as an omnipotent being, if it lacked critical self reflection it would be more human in its belief of superiority. the smarter something is the more it self reflects on its actions, the dumber the less thought is given to consequence.
but this is based on animal reaction, and a god would be free from the limitations of the flawed intellect and emotions of mankind. but would knowing everything empower it? I doubt it, as mystery makes life awesome. but then god doesnt need to feel alive does it.

so who can say. we cannot compare to man, but as we are supposedly in gods image perhaps we can.

as for god being disappointed at us humans for not taking advantage of his gifts, I say bollocks to that. if it is alive and omnipotent, how dare it ask us to believe in a guess about it, and make the correct decision. when we dont even know what the expectation is or that it is even a reality. thats like performing a dance you have never done, seen, or heard of, and you are expected to get every move correct... or else! no way, a god wouldnt be that idiotic. oh, and I wouldnt believe what father murphy tells us, or creflo dollar for that matter... man is the biggest devil alive, a living demon determned to lie to ourselves.
no god, no devil, only human opportunity. you saps.

after all, the god people describe has all the traits of a brat child, an emotional unstable human mind. anger, hatred, vengeance, love, aloofness, intimidation...
wait, sounds like man did invent the bible after all. for a god would never be so god damn petty (pun intended). therefore ... no, god doesnt get disappointed with itself, as there is no god to be upset at itself.

god at best is life itself. the life in our hearts and minds. the holy spirit is the divine spark that we call living. nothing more, nothing less. divine yet untouchable, while at the same time we are it and not of it. its a mystery that is never meant to be solved, we live we die, life goes on for the survivors...

wow, cool Q

God is often disappointed in the human creation, but that is because God gave humans the freedom of choice. God has no reason to be disappointed in God. God is perfect and has done nothing wrong.

God created a Universe that is entirely self-sufficient. The Universe evolves and changes to constantly create beauty. There is nothing to be disappointed in there.

The human creation is the only disappointment, because humans do not follow God's Will. God gave humans intelligence and the chance to use the intelligence for good or bad. Humans choose to use it as they see fit. Unfortunately, many humans forget their relationship to the Universe and only see themselves. They abuse other humans and the Environment for their own gain.

God created humans in order to see intelligent creatures follow God's Will and we are the disappointments.

Take care,
Troy

No,I don't think that he is ever disappointed with himself but I have often wondered if he regrets making man.I am sure that he experiences a wide range of emotion in regards to mankind.I'm sure he feels anger, sadness, disgust but there are still good people in the world and I am sure he sees the good things that people do as well.

God has never once blamed himself for anything.
All he ever did was punish man, and make man do outrageous things as a test of man's faith in him etc.
Nothing documented in religious books ever indicate that God was displeased with anything other than everything else.

he keeps punishing us by taking away things we love so what has made him dissappointed the way the world has turned out well he could change that if he wanted to then he would be happy and so would a lot of people

He may be frustrated that we haven't done more with the gifts given to us.

That is the drawback with free will
