You can have up to 300mg of caffeine a day safely while pregnant, according to my doctor and the Pregnancy Bible. A can of coke has about 25-30mg. Stopping now wouldn't have any adverse affects. I'm 34 weeks and generally avoid large amounts of caffeine, but still have my Dr. Pepper or a cup of coffee each day (totalling 50mg tops). The baby is 2 weeks ahead of development, so the caffeine obviously hasn't stunted his growth.

Boy am I glad to see that you're just drinking coke and not snorting coke!! Cola drinks have caffeine in them, which may make the baby caffeine dependent. I guess 2 cans a day isn't so bad, but still it's best to ask your obstetrician about it. Take good care of yourself!

well coke in general isn't good of you all the suger and caffine.. The caffine would be what I would worry about.. don't switch to diet coke as the atrifical sweetners can be bad for you and bub..

It is advisable to cut down on the amount of caffeine you consume. Caffeine affects the body's absorption of iron, which is very important for the baby's development. Although up to 300mg of caffeine a day is thought to be safe, a study is currently investigating whether there are links between excessive consumption of caffeine, miscarriage and low birth weight.
300mg is roughly equivalent to either:
3 mugs of instant coffee, 3 cups of brewed coffee, six cups of tea, eight cans of regular cola, or eight standard bars of chocolate.

Aspartame, an artificial sweetener found in many diet soft drinks, is considered safe in pregnancy, although the UK Food Standards Agency recommends that adults do not exceed a daily intake of 2,800 mg. This is equivalent to about 14 cans of a diet drink per day!

Saccharin, another artificial sweetener found commonly in foods and drinks, is also considered safe for pregnant women.

The main health issue for pregnant women who use artificial sweeteners is that they may be missing out on more nutritious foods and drinks. A woman who drinks a lot of diet cola, for instance, may not be getting enough water, milk, or juice, which are all beneficial to her developing baby.

for a list of what is safe during pregnancy try this site.. very infomative its what I use..http://www.babycentre.co.uk/expert/

I don't think you have done any harm..but I would cut down and try to eat and drink healthier..

2 weeks pregnant??? you don't find out till your about 5 weeks pregnant, so i think u need to go to your doctor and find out an accurate date of pregnancy b/c 2 weeks in "pregnancy time" is actually 2 weeks after your period and this is when conception occurs so i don't understand how u are 2 weeks pregnant, u actually wouldn't even know at this point whether fertilization even occurred or not????

You should be cutting back on your caffeine and sugar intake for your baby's health. If you can, stick to fruit drinks - even fresh-orange juice with lemonade or soda in it will be good if you need the fizz.

All the best!

Coca Cola? It shouldn't have a negative effect on the baby. Just limit your caffiene intake so it doesn't raise the heartbeat too much.
