My First Album- :)

1. Somethings Burning - a metaphorical ballad about burnt toast but is actually about the end of the world.

2. Monkey Clown's in Funky Towns - Upbeat rocker about an idiot on a trampoline that knows the answer to life.

3. Gotta Get Up - slow 2 minute acoustic number about having to walk to the bathroom in the mornings. Not on.

4. Lazy Eye - Another acoustic sad song about a guy who can't get it up.

5. Tear it Down Tonight - ANGRY ANGRY TUNE!!! >:(

6. Don't Run With Scissors - happy bouncy tune about the joyous aspects of childhood rebellion

7. Come On - Stadium thumper that sounds suspiciously like Paradise City........hmmmmmmm.

8. Stadium Thumper - head banger inspired by the description of the last track. Awesome.

9. Put the Kettle On (we've run outta pills) - the come down song.

10. Round Numbers Feel Better - The final good bye on the greatest album ever written.......ever!

Ya can't go wrong with love, life and getting over things, becoming stronger.

Although I'd write something a bit different, always seems to be songs about love written from the same view point. Maybe the other woman/man's point of view .... knowing they are with their partner and they are not really in the persons life. I really like a lot of Pink's stuff those songs seem to be real, not just an attempt at No 1 or just to make money. Keep it real, and stay away from love at first sight, it's been done to death. Best of luck!!!

do some techno stuff, you only need about 7 words or less and you have a hit. Or semi-techno stuff:
"I'm bringing sexy back"
"ja!"
lol. Great song.
Or write something about cars, I love car songs. Sing about a porsche please, not enough songs about those. On an austin mini, love those too.
Sing about popular people from the sixties "Twiggy", Love the song 'twiggy twiggy versus James Bond' by Pizzicato Five.
Just write cheery stuff, there's already too much sad stuff out there. Try too fully express emotions of happiness and stuff, if you can convey those emotions properly then your publisher will probably be very pleased.

If you look at most popular songs, love is normally the overwhelmingly best subject. I loved writing punk songs till I stopped being so angry but my (anonymous) love songs have gone down best. Have you got an address for this publisher? I could do with the money.

Write about what you know. If the subject is sensitive, change the names and places of people and events. Try to write clever lines that can turn into a story - and they don't always have to rhyme, but it helps. Any good writing teacher will tell you that you should always write about what you are familiar with, so if you are not familiar with fishing, don't write about fishing! Be sure to review your material, and use a dictionary and a thesaurus to add a little variety to your words. Above all, write about what YOU want to write about it.

I would write some fast songs, a few love ballads and a political song.

If i could throw in a silly song, I'd do that as well.

As to any specific song, that is rather personal, as it comes from me

See what's popular then imitate their style perhaps. Whatever you do, write it from the heart. Make the music mean something to you and its bound to be good.

With the rubbish that's in the chart's and on the wireless these day's i would say you have'nt got a problem. It appears to me they'll accept anything that's got the slightest bit of a tune to it.
