8/(x+9)+ 5/(4x+36)
=32/(4x+36) + 5/(4x+36) = 37/(4x+36)
Simply make the denominators the same so you can then add.

(8) / (x + 9) + (5) / (4x + 36) =

(8) / (x+9) + (5) / (4*(x+9)) =

8 / (x+9) + 5/4 * 1/(x+9) =

8 / (x+9) + 1.25 / (x+9) =

9.25 / (x+9)

(8)/(x+9) + (5)/(4x+36)
= ((8)*(4x+36) + (5)*(x+9))/(4x+36)*(x+9)
= (32x+288) + (5x+45))/(4x+36)*(x+9)
= (37x + 333)/(4x+36)*(x+9)
= (37x + 333)/(4x^2 + 72x + 324)
