"I Got You (I Feel Good)" is a 1965 hit single by James Brown for King Records. The song is arguably Brown's best-known recording, and is today one of his signature songs.

On the record, Brown revels in how "good" he feels ("nice, like sugar and spice"), now that he has the one he loves. Brown's vocal performance features his trademark soul shouting vocals and screams, and Brown's band provides highly rhythmic and brass-heavy instrumentation, finishing the song off with eleven rhythmic hits.

Brown's screams at the beginning and end of the song have been sampled countless times for hip hop and dance songs. The song as a whole has been covered many times, appears on the soundtracks for numerous films, and is frequently played at sporting events.

Of Brown's 99 hits to reach the Billboard Hot 100 (a total second only to Elvis Presley) it is Brown's highest charting song, peaking at number three. The song remained at the top of the Billboard R&B singles chart for six weeks, after the previous single, "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" (Pt. 1), held the number-one spot for eight weeks. It was also sung in the Simpsons episode Bart's Inner Child and in Garfield: The Movie

The Godfather of Soul.
The Hardest Working Man In Show Business.
James Brown sang "I Got You (I Feel Good" originally. Not having seen the film in question, I have no idea if the Godfather of Soul sang that version, but I can't imagine anyone else trying to cover it.
Be kinda like someone else singing "Respect". Can't be done. Only Aretha can handle that song.
