hey, im just wondering can any one help me or offer any advice.

I am 19 years old and I have a problem with drinking. I dont mean I drink too much, I dont, I drink usually only one night a week when Im out with my friends but every single time I drink I be sick without fail. And its not just after I drink, or at the end of the night, its usually early on after two or three drinks. I have a feeling I could be alergic to drink (although to be honest is that possible? im not sure). Its getting me down, as much as I do enjoy having a drink, Im starting to think this could be more serious than I though. Im also starting to worry that my friends are assuming im making myself sick i.e bulemia which is 100% not the case.

Please, serious answers only.

Thank you, Anna x

Yes, your right. You could be allergic to alcohol. I know that sux, but the best for you. Just tell your friends you can't drink with them, maybe just one.. Or none is best.. But, tell them that you have an allergy to it. They'll understand. You don't want to ruin your esophagus, by throwing up, and drinking.. Long term probs.. Good luck.. Its not all what it is wrapped up to be anyways. Sober now for 3.4months.. Yippee..

it is possible to suffer an alcohol intolerance, but from the sounds of it your body just isn't use to dealing with / processing alcohol...... if i go a while without drinking i get drunk alot quicker,.....

for example when i was back packing i was drinking every other night almost.... then we could all manage 6-7 pints - and we still weren't drunk...merry yes, but not drunk as skunks!

we where out in Manchester after seeing MUSE at the MEN Arena and i had 3 pints....i haven't drunk for about 4months and i could feel myself starting to go after 3

so it's dependent on whether you are a regular drinker or not?....

not that I'm suggesting you become a raging alcoholic,...lol

You can be allergic to alcohol. Also are you mixing drinks that could be a problem.......if you're drinking too fast...drinking on an empty stomach..everyone processes alcohol differently and some people are allergic.

I was the same with lager or beer, then I discovered that I was allergic to the glutton in the booze, so now I just drink wine or cider problem solved.
