Unfortunately our family structure generally produces people with low self confidence.

If people made better choices when selecting spouses, we would have a better chance of producing confident children. That is at least part of the issue. The type of parenting that people provide to their children also has a great effect on the confidence of the children.

All of this being said, outside influences can also effect the confidence level of a child. Molested children have very low self confidence.

There are many factors and unfortunately our society does a better job of providing negative influences.

Take care,
Troy

I think we are born with self confidence but society continually takes it
away. We watch tv and learn that we stink ( need deodorant), our teeth
aren't white enough ( tooth whiteners), our kids aren't smart enough ( special
schools, our homes aren't clean enough. Maybe if we could stop being
influenced by outside opinions we could love ourselves more and stop
worrying about how we look to others.
