I believe parents/schoolkids think that a majority of a different race will either influence, reject or single out their child. Sending your children off to school is a nervy time anyway.

The school that i went to was half white and the college opposite only %2 was white, at school races tended to bunch together and look out for each other(not all the time but mostly) due to the bad integration racial tension was high ending in racist attacks.

As for the college alot of my friends attended and they left for different colleges because they couldn't make friends and was often paranoid due to everyone speaking different languages around them.

Local schools to my school were also overwhelmingly not white and my school often had white kids trying to join my school from those schools possibly because of bullying or their parents wanting them to have a 'White' education.

It may be hard to swallow but integration is harder in inner city's due to small mindedness and extreme cultural differences, more should be done to encourage integration and making schools more 50/50 and then children wont be made to leave to schools outside of their home city

Its because a lot of inner city schools are catering more for the ethnic minorities and the children whose first language is not english. because of this the english speaking kids are held back. the parents dont want that to happen to thier children so they remove them and send them to different schools.

Also i think it can be a little scary for the children when the practically the whole school is of a different culture/ language. the child would feel isolated. there are schools such as these near to where i live.
