Spring starts when the sun crosses the celestial equator on it's way your own hemisphere. Autumn starts when it crosses again into the opposing hemisphere. So, as the sun heads north ,the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere is also the first day of autumn in the southern hemisphere. That's March 21st or 22nd.As the sun heads south again,it crosses the celestial equator on September 21st or 22nd,which is the first day of spring south of the equator, and of autumn north of the equator.

Looks like you're confusing "spring" and "autumn" in terms of season for "spring" and "autumn" in terms of school semesters. While the autumn season (northern hemisphere) begins at the autumn equinox Sept. 22 or 23 and ends at the winter solstice Dec. 21 or 22, "fall" classes for school usually start in mid August and end a week or so before Christmas. Our spring season begins at the vernal equinox March 19 or 20 and ends with the summer solstice Juse 20 or 21. But "spring" classes actually begin in early January -- which is really closer to the beginning of winter -- and end sometime in early to mid May. There's a discrepancy between scientific seasons and academic seasons, so if you're thinking classes, you'd probably better call the school you're looking into and see when their "spring" begins, because every school seems to have their own little spin on it.

Spring comes in on March 20 at different times depending on factors that I do not really understand. So it could come in at 6:15am one year or 4:00pm another. So the first full day of spring is March 21.Hope this helps, but the school you want to attend should be able to tell you when their spring semester starts. Good luck with your courses. Study hard and make lots of money, Plan your retirement years. Get your money into a good plan , I am Canadian, so if you arent, you may not know what I mean by RSP, a savings for retirement. When young you get the benefit of compound interest. I wish I knew about that when I was younger. Good luck

That depends on where you live. No, I dont mean at the different poles.... just going from one education authority (England) to another does it! I live one one bank of a river and we have different school holidays to the residents on the opposing bank. So just phone up and ASK!
