If you are talking about what ethnic groups immigrate there, then I can tell you that the number one group of resident aliens in Rome are Phillipinos and the number two group are Romanians. But there are also many people from Latin America and from North Africa and East Africa.

If you are speaking about recent immigration, there are moldavian-romenians, ukrainians, bielorussians, albanians, arabians from Magreb, people form Nigeria, Senegal, Angola and other subsaharian african countries, "Indians" (from Ceylon and Bangladesh mainly).
If you are speaking about traditional groups besides Italians,they are:
- the strongest minority are southtyroleses (german speakers with customs very similar to customs in austrian Tyrol or german Bavary)
- other almost vanishing different languages (as provencal or french-provencal in western Alps, some peculiar german dialect in Venetian mountains, some zone of Ladinian language in eastern Alps, old Albanian and greek comunity in southern Italy, spanish catalan in Alghero, a town in Sardinia island); but in these zone most unhabitants are native italian speakers (and few of them speaks both)
- there are also two other tongues, very similar to italian, but classifed by scholars as languages aside: Friulian (NE Italy) and Sardinian (in said Sardinia island); these languages have the same status and use toward standard italian as any italian dialect (widespread,yet most people speak an italianwith a accent, no official use). BUT speakers view themselves and are viewed as fully Italians (with peculiar tradition as any other italian region) therefore these two are more linguistic than ethnic groups.

when i was travelling i met a racist italian who despised albanians he said they took all the jobs etc, i was scared to sleep in the same hostel as him!!!
When i was there,though one observation i made was that there wasnt many black people, dont know if this was just me or what? it would be interesting to see your answers though.
