I formatted my camera a few days ago. Now, when i attach the lead from my camera to my pc nothing happens except a thing with 'E' drive. I used to get a box offering me a selection of options for me to download my pictures. Dont know what this E drive is for. How do i get the original box up so that i can download my pics again. Please help, god my grandson's 2nd birthday coming up and i want to be able to download the pics. Thanx in advance for anyone who solves this for me.

I'll answer both your questions. Firstly, the E drive that has appeared is available for you to directly access the files (including the photos) stored on the memory card in the camera. Windows refers to this as a 'removable drive'.

If you wanted to, you could open up the E drive, and there's probably a folder called something like 'Polaroid' and inside that a folder called something like 'DCIM'. Anyway, don't be afraid to look around in those folders - you'll find one of them has all your photos in it.

Secondly, the reason you aren't getting the box pop up anymore that used to ask you what you wanted to do with your camera when you plug it in is because Windows has lost it's default action for autoplaying this type of media. But you can put it back again. You'll need a small program from Microsoft called "Windows XP AutoPlay repair wizard". It's free, and you can download it from this page:

AutoPlay is the part of Windows which decides how to handle media inserted into your PC. This is usually CDs or DVDs, but also includes other 'removable drives' such as cameras and other USB devices.

Hopefully that will help fix your problem. Alternatively, have a Google yourself for how to reset your AutoPlay settings in Windows XP.

The main thing is - whether you get your AutoPlay working or not, the photos are all still available on the camera and you can still access them using the removable drive E that Windows creates when you plug the camera in.

All is not lost!

All the best - I hope I've helped.

e drive is the usb drive & this is where you are likely to put ur leads for the camera in when you want to access the data go in to start bar, programs, accessories & you should get an icon that has the e drive on it click on here & photos should appear
