Chronologically, it's time that a black man or woman could be president.

Socially, the United States has somewhat devolved over the past 25 years, bringing bigotry out of the closet, and reinstating it as a """valid""" world view. The prevailing mood of the moment is anti-progressive, as you probably are aware.

What all this says is that most people wouldn't accept it. I don't like that reality, but it is reality, whether or not I like it.

Black or female there would be some who didn't like them just because of the black or female thing. But then there are people who don't like the President because they are Republican or Democrat.

Gay? They would have to come out of the closet AFTER they got elected. While many don't want homosexuals to be abused, the majority still don't want to have much to do with them and wouldn't vote for them if they knew.

If a black man or a woman was elected president, I'd be surprised to begin with. It would be a sign that this country is going in a very positive direction. Hell, I'd be content with a black or female VP.

I doubt an open gay would get elected President. A woman I wouldn't have any problen with as long as she wasn't a feminazi. As for a Black, didn't Bill Clinton claim to be our first Black President?

To be frank, it would be quite a surprise even in 2006 but it the person was really a great leader people would adapt. It would be a landmark event and we can look forward to the day when a new perspective is represented.

"Gay" is not the same thing as "black" or a "woman." A homosexual can be a black, a man, a woman, or a person from any walk of life who practices a BEHAVIOR.

A person who practices that BEHAVIOR does not meet the moral qualifications for a president.

A Black or woman would be fine, as long as they're of sound mind and character, and if the woman is not aligned with liberal, feminist causes. Forget a Hillary type.

Well it is not 1920 so anyone who would judge someone based on skin color, sexual preference or gender is out of touch with reality. It does not matter what the President looks like or his or her sexual orientation is. If they can do the job and get the votes they deserve it.
