I was looking at them at for our newborn and pre-schooler and wondered how accurate they are.

Unfortunately, I haven't had too much luck with the accuracy of any thermometers except the old fashioned glass kind in his little bum. It's the worst way to take a temperature I think. But, so far it has been the most accurate. Fortunately though, the new temporal ones give a reading very quickly so baby doesn't squirm too much. It seemed that the reading that the temporal and ear-type thermometers gave was about a degree or a degree and a half too low.

nope but i find the braun one the best i have it 4 years and it still works perfect
