This is a very common problem..and the best way to overcome this is to start counting 1000 to one backwards...
this keeps mind alert, active and focussed, because ur entire activity gets shifted to one thing. And then with this fresh concentration u can tackle things where u have been inactive at.

you haven't told us your age and about your education. but one thing is for sure: your lethargy is due to your disinterest. you can break this habit by joining hands with some of your school-mate (or the one who also has similar homework and assignments to do) and do whatever you are supposed to do at home.
try to find out what makes you disinterested - as sometimes you have been pushed by your parents to choose subjects you don't like to be associated with - like maths or science or something. if it is so, immediately change to the ones you like midstream. this will solve your lethargy once and for all. this goes for your own choice also.
develop clean habits like taking a bath in the evening, freshen up as soon as you come home etc. if you are obsessed with girls, try to create a time for keeping your thoughts aside for your bread and butter issues. girls will always be there even after your doing your routine work.
if you are an adult (from your question, i suppose you are a teenager) the procedure is the same - find out what is upsetting you.............. plus try to take some vitality medicines like revital etc. this will change your lethargy at the physical level.

have an urge to finish and accomplish stuffs.. don't be over power by laziness.
i suggest have a appointment with a good psychiatrist they can really help and prescribe a medicine for you.
but for me,
have an alternate move... if your mind wont process, we can do force it,,, do an exercise.. like yoga, or go dancing, biking swimming or any sports that makes you tires and busy..
then i suggest you to have a vacation to a very nice place... like beaches, mountain top... or anywhere your mind can be free from stress and pressure.
then if you have a pet, especially dog, go to the fields and play with it.. have an aquarium of 9 goldfishes, it will give you entertainment and simplicity of peace just looking at it...
have a chat with a long lost friend or classmate.. or relative. just give yourself a break..
by travelling and wandering around you will find answers hidden and popping out to the reason your that uninterested lately..
then have a good diet, eat foods that will stimulate brain functions, have a royal jelly, its rich in anti oxidants, ginseng and very good for brain nerves stimulation. or have a stress stabs... rich in iron to make blood cells alive...
avoid fatty foods, like too much meat protein and too much junk foods... sweets, oily fried.., these are food for slowing our mechanisms although its energy source but if not used its just stock up and it will never be used coz your brain will just be too preoccupied...
then have a meditation... go to a nice place, quiet and clean... reflect.. and see through yourself.. you your life and others and beyond..

We can all give you suggestions but it is you who have to implement. Whether going to psychatrist, taking a bath in the morning, do meditation, ........you have to implement it.
The best thing is that you are trying to analyse yourself and find a way out . You will definitley succeed. So just sit and implement what ever suggestion you like best.

very sensible, Brill, LOL LOL LOL LOL i will do my ideal to stay with those guidelines for 'the draw close' even though it will be puzzling attempting to make 'the cat' comprehend that 'the draw close' has the perfect pickings at feed time. it fairly is so cool!!!

If it's just a couple of days then it's only a phase, but worry about a depression if it is over a prolonged time.
