My last glasstop stove never scratched. I guess this one is poorer quality. Any suggestions on getting rid or hiding the scratches?

Depending on how deep they are will depend on whether it needs replacing or not, you could try toothpaste and a soft cloth. Toothpaste is a mild abrasive and can be used to remove scratches.
