I'm sorry but the answer above is wrong. The pathology of osteoarthritis never involves inflammation. It's simply due to erosion of the ends of your bones due to repeated stress on them. Thus, analgesics are the only needed drugs for the management of this condition, and as such, antiinflammatory agents are not indicated.
Rheumatoid arthritis is another story however, and anti-inflammatory agents take a major part in its management.

Yes, when the osteoarthritis is accompanied by pain and inflammation (which usually happens).
