To Kill a mockingbird is a sin in the book. Its like Boo Radley, or Tom Robinson would be a sin to kill because they are both innocent like the mockingbirds who only sing for our pleasure. Its a good title for the book because it is a metaphor relating character to a good virtue.

This sure sounds like a homework question to me. Nonetheless, I'll answer it.

Mockingbirds are songbirds. To kill one is to kill something that is innocent. The characters are identified with innocence.
