When?

There are at least 3 ways that the age of the Universe can be estimated.

* The age of the chemical elements.
* The age of the oldest star clusters.
* The age of the oldest white dwarf stars.

The age of the Universe can also be estimated from a cosmological model based on the Hubble constant and the densities of matter and dark energy. This model-based age is currently 13.7 +/- 0.2 billion years. The actual age measurements are consistent with the model-based age which increases our confidence in the Big Bang model.

How?

No one really know for sure how however by taking in consideration the evidence the closest thing on how our universe was formed is the Big Bang model.

“Our universe began in a hot dense state which began, and still is expanding. In this initial event, all the matter in our universe was created with approximately 80% hydrogen and 20% helium.”

Some will say what about god? The Big Bang, like all science, doesn’t have any implications either for or against God. What it may do, it place constraints on how God did things and these may run contrary to scripture.

This is my theory.
I believe the big bang theory to be true, but that the big bang was orchestrated by God. There are many Apocrypha that used to be part of the bible that was rooted out by the World Church Organization, and in this Apocrypha, it explains where God comes from, and that God is not a singular entity, but a Force of many wondrous gifts.

God broke through into our Dimension of space, and caused the big bang. He found the earth to be the most pleasing, and created our civilisation through the Word, and through inspiration.

Creationists say that the earth is only 6 thousand years old (their theory that a thousand years is likened to a day for God, which is why they estimate 6 thousand years), but of course carbon dating takes us back millions of years, and as for humans, well we've been around at least 10 000 years..
I don't believe this theory at all.

I believe God caused the big bang, and over time, created all things on the planet. As for Genesis, the first book in the bible, If you read this in a spiritual sense, then it has a very different meaning than what people think. It cannot be understood with just a black and white natural thinking. I do beleive there is a historical side to it, but somethings are not meant to be understood that way.

As for the Universe: The scientists estimate about 13 billion years, though they cannot really be sure. As for earth, I'd guess a couple of million. Mankind, are not millions of years old, but we took a long time to get to the level of understanding we have today.

The Universe was formed about 14 billion years ago and it formed when there was an small energy wave ripple in the nothingness that there.

Supposedly when two other universes overlapped at the super string level, causing the big bang.

Here is a site which explains the basics of the latest theory.

The big bang was about 13.7 billion years ago, and the universe evolved from there as it cooled. Look up 'cosmological evolution'.
