I "Googled" 'Organs of Speech' and found a very clear description, with diagrams. Try it!!

I'm not a scientist but I am in my schools choir :) I know that to speak the human body uses 3 organs. The diaphram, the Lungs, and the Vocal Chords.

Each organ serves a purpose. The diaphram brings air into and out of your lungs. Using your diaphram you can increase the sound of your voice or decrease its volume. The lungs of course hold the air. And the vocal chords vibrate with the air. Your vocal chords acually make the sound. They operate kind of like a speaker though I don't know how a speaker works I have been told that many times. There is one other thing but I don't think its an organ. Your soft pallet. The soft tissue at the top of your mouth vibrates giving you a different sound. Experiment you can play with your voice using your mouth alone.

As far as words go you use your tongue, Lips and nose to make sounds. T, S, M, A, G and many other sounds come from your lips and tongue. Try blocking your nose, you will find that you cannot properly say an N while blocking your nose. :) its really cool.

I think I covered all bases. If your still in school try talking to your choral director. They are usually experts on the voice (kinda hard not to be )
