I have been told that I am a candidate for double knee replacements. My orthopedist tells me that I will be able to play doubles tennis in 8 months to a year. I hope he is correct.

He is right that you will be able to play again if you want. The moving on the court can be tough and you have to be careful of cutting , but I do know of at least two guys who have had the surgery and are out there playing a lot. Good luck. Remember on a professional level Thomas Muster had his knee run over by a car and came back 2 years later and 3 years later won the French open. He was phenomenally fit however, like when he rehabbed he got strong and or 6 percent body fat. He worked like an animal.

My Dad had both knees done. He does not play tennis but he does square dance at least 5 or6 nights a week. He walks a minimum of 5 miles a day and works out in the gym 3 or 4 times a week. I should mention that he is 81 years young and his knees were done at 75. You will be fine and pain free. The most important part of this is doing the physical therapy not only at therapy appointments but at home. Let exercise become your friend. Good luck.

The tennis pro at my club got both knees replaced. He is not quite as quick as he was, but he kicks everyone's butt at the club.

The price of knee replacement surgery is very low in India as compared to USA, UK and Canada. My cousin also got her hip replacement surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She is totally pain free now. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as all joint surgery is not covered by insurance in USA or by NHS in the UK. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
