I need more power

Yes, but prob not worth it. Why do you need more power?

A Superchip will give you an extra 7 or 8 BHP, which reallyisn't that noticeable. Chipping your car is really about smoothing out power curves, adjusting the mid-range "oomph" and all that.

To really boost the power, you need to start by upgrading the brakes (and possibly suspension) and tyres - no point in upping power by any amount if you can't stay on the road and stop safely.

Next step would be to fit an induction kit and decent aftermarket sports exhaust, have some work done on the cylinder head (flowed, skimmed etc), fit a fast road cam and long-throw cranks, and the have a chip fitted to smooth everything.

For the money it'll cost, on an older car like your Mazda, is it worth it? Plus, your insurance will go up loads, if you can get anyone to take you on.

Don't forget that your insurance will be invalid if you don't inform them of any modifications you make, which means that if you have a smack / hit a pedestrian you will be in DEEP $HIT - and yes, they WILL be able to tell. Even fitting different wheels counts as a modification.

Its prob not worth chipping your car, most likely ur car is down in power thru age, but the most u'll prob get would 10-15bhp, and prob won't even notice it, u prob be better chipping, K&N filter, exhaust system, theres plenty more of course you can do, but its all down to money, and then how much will u get back when u sell the car. maybe try an buy a Honda there easily chipped an powered up.

Yes, take it to superchips.

You can also make it a bit quicker/noisier by replacing the airfilter with a K&N or Viper one and by fitting an decent exhaust. Make you you uprate the brakes though!

Yes, take a medium size stone and throw it at the side fender, should do the trick, you'll have a nice chip then!
