Basically it's the storage and safe use of chemicals in the workplace, all company's in the UK should now have in place COSHH training for staff and precise details of all chemicals used on site and treatment required if an accident happens.

control of substances hazardous to health. it's a list of guidelines produced by a company making various products. in it, it lists the product, the constituents, the expected reactions with other products, and the method of clearing up a spill. for example household bleach would be listed... explaining that it should not be mixed with other chemicals, as it may cause the release of chlorine gas, and the fact that the product should be cleaned up with lots of water, to dilute the product. the orange boxes containing symbols are, to the best of my knowledge part of the COSSH regulations, as these explain what the harmful problems of the products are, in an internationally accepted format
