Yes, I think there are a lot of celebrities dying at the moment,
but you do not hear a lot about the everyday people dying unless you have some connection to them, so I think it is hard to really know what kind of statistics are out there.

a lot of my aqcuaintances have cancer, several of them already died from it. In the past 10 years i often heard of people getting a disease that threatened their lives. Wether it's a coincidence or what's causing it i don't know. In my family there are 4 members who have a weak health and are taking medicines....
my guess is that it has to do with the chemical industry, food industry and polution. Something can be done about polution but i dont know if the first two are prepared to change since they're economy driven. An average of 80 permanent chemicals are found in our body as a result of our food intake, some of them with the potential of causing cancer (dioxine for example). Add to that polution and the chemicals we use daily to clean our houses, cosmetics, in water, etc... well you get the idea how we've become walking garbage cans and we're taking it for granted.
It's also known that alcohol and bad nutritional habits often generate depression under the right circumstances, such as the christmas period, disfunctional families, divorce, etc.... There's always an increase of suicides around christmas...

Not nearly enough.
Far more people are being born than dying these days. I think we need a few more nice, big natural disasters to sort that out.... or maybe half of the human population becoming mysteriously sterile.

well people have been dieing since the beginning of time it is just they have not been dieing on TV since the 1940 and in the mid 90s on mass media. just don't watch TV, i just watch shows i download and don't have cable, and the world is a nicer place without all the world to tell me how to think . if i wont to know what is going on i will read that way i know the hole store not just what bill O'reilly wont's me to think so bill and others like him wont cant twist he truth for me, that way my prospective is not twisted to the political agenda of the government.
