I'm Indian..which means I'm also Asian...
I know that for me and a lot of other people I know, we all look for other Indian guys...
It's not that we're racist or anything...It's just culture and we don't have a problem following it since it's probably the best for our lives..and its sort of weird for us to date someone out of our race when all the other girls only date Indian guys too...
The guys however...they usually aren't all for only dating Indian girls...they don't mind going around the world looking for a perfect girl to fall in love with...however, they usually end up marrying an Indian girl..
lol..thats my lil explanation
P.S. we usually get a lot of pressure from our parents since we're young about finding a good indian guy to marry...so..yea..lol

Nope!!!
Oriental women in North America are more likely to fall into western values. In alot of ways, they are more likely to appear "liberated" than non-asian women in terms of work.
Some definately date out of race.
In terms of you dating one, well my friend, a girl is a girl. You still got to impress her, make her feel special, and she's got to be attracted to you. Also, she's got to feel comfortable with you. The cultural norms are a bit different but in the end, well ...
Is it taboo for them to date outside of their race? Officially yes but just like many white families have gotten used to the idea, so have many asian families. Some asian families are more open to a white guy than say a black guy. They sometimes have racist feelings about other asians too but I'm not sure if whites are considered worse or not. Like whites, it really does vary from family to family.
I do think dating a south east asian girl is more difficult but I've seen mixed marriages there too. I've also heard stories of homocide in extreme cases but again, it really depends on the parents.

It's called "being safe and contented in their comfort zone."
Most Asians are usually sheltered, conservative and inhibited.
I am Asian and I can tell you for a fact, it's true.
Also it could be pressure from their own family members.
It will take some time for them to get to know and trust ppl from other cultures. To date someone from another culture would take even longer.
These woman may secretly be longing to get to know someone like you, but were not given the opportunity.

Overseas they love to date outside their race. I know what you mean though. I really don't think it's taboo, maybe just pressure from parents some.

Naturally, most would want to date someone who shares their values. If you are not chinese, you do not have chinese values or chinese comunication style, etc.
