Realize that they are toxic and limit your interaction with them. Choose not to share the positive things that you are doing; thus "defusing" their opportunity to "rain" on you. Also- you might want to read a book called "Emotional Vampires". People who constantly behave this way are actually "feeding" off the misery they create in others.

Talk to them for like 5 seconds then run off because you have more important things to do. Never share your life with these people! They only bring you down, and worse yet, get joy from doing so.

Swat them like flies....
It can take various forms.... but I generally get them out of the way without even acknowledging them as people... merely obstacles...
Like if people get in my way in the street.... I will step around them... and usually this involves cutting right back in front of them, often causing them to stop abruptly...... but then it serves them right for inconveniencing me in the first place..... Stupid NPCs... ¬_¬
