I am 10 weeks pregnant and when I got up today I was in a lot of pain in my ovaries, buttocks and thighs. The pain is not too bad when I lie down but when i first stand up i am in lots of pain. I have not had a scan yet so I am worried. Phoned midwife she says to take painkillers and to watch the pain. Is this normal I have had babies before and never had this pain. Could it be a cyst or would a cyst be painful even when I lie down??? Thanks.

ive had two pregnancies and i have never felt that time of pain either....i first thought possibly an eptopic pregnancy....but as far as i know it would have been painful earlier than 10 weeks around 6 i think is the norm and the pain does not stop....just relax and try to make yourself as comfortable as possible....and get to your ob/gyno as soon as you can.....

I had something similar. It sounds like round ligament pain. Basically, that means that your muscles are stretching in your abdomen to prepare for your growing belly. Because you are not yet twelve weeks, keep an eye on it, but I don't think that it's anything too serious.

Early pregnancy brings about hormone changes, too, and that could be a reason for the leg cramping. There's a good chance that it will only last a couple of days. Try to relax. Often times, when you're freaking out, it makes it seem like it hurts worse than it really does.

If it continues, go see your doc or midwife so that they can maybe tell you what's going on.

I have had 3 children now an I get a simular pain when pregnant from about 7 to13 weeks, I was checked for eptopic with the first one but all was ok. For me it was just muscles stretching, relax and if you feel it is not right go to your doctor and ask questions Keep asking until you get results.

mmm... I had the same sensation and then had a miscarriage... not to say this is what is happening with you but that was my experience... I was 9 weeks pregnant at the time.
