Dr. Rajendra Prasad (December 3, 1884 – February 28, 1963) was the first President of India.

Rajendra Prasad was a freedom-fighter and, as a leader of the Congress Party, played a prominent role in the Indian Independence Movement. He served as President of the Constituent Assembly that drafted the constitution of the Republic from 1948 to 1950. He had also served as a Cabinet Minister briefly in the first Government of Independent India-.

The first president of India is or was Dr. Rejendra Prasad. In January 26-India promulgates its constitution forming a republic and Rejendra Prasad is sworn in as its first president. He ruled from 26Th January 1950 to 13Th May 1962. Other things may be you will like to know about him are; (1) He was born in 1884 and died in 1963 (2) He was a minister of food in 1947 and in his final term of office, he was awarded Bharat Ratna in 1962.
