Some people have a problem with labelling a revolution; for many, a revolution is the violent overthrow of a reigning government. However, see scientific revolution, and singing revolution for other examples of non-violent revolutions. In the years since there have been several similar, largely nonviolent revolutions removing similarly unpopular regimes (in, for example, the former East Germany, the Velvet Revolution in the former Czechoslovakia, and the Orange Revolution in Ukraine), so the EDSA Revolution may seem more "authentically" revolutionary now than it did at the time, and could even perhaps be cited as the event that led, at least in part, to subsequent peaceful revolts.

The difference between a revolution & a rebellion is in the outcome.

I suppose that it would matter on your definition of work. The American revolution worked, as did the French and the Bolshevik revolution in Russia in 1917. As far as these revolutions leading directly to stable and sustained government, that didn't happen in any of the three cases that I listed. Often times revolutions will remove the current establishment; however it then takes a while until a "proper" government can be installed and gain legitimacy.

Revolutions succeed or fail. Revolution is a tool used to remove a government.

The Russian Revolution removed the Czars from power and replaced them with a socialist government which devolved into communism.

The French Revolution removed the French Monarchy and replaced it with a Democratic government which is devolving into socialism.

The American Revolution removed the British Monarchy from America and replaced it with a Democratic Republic which is still working essentially in the same form today.

Yes they have done in the past, France, U.S for example. However, if your thinking of a British Revolution....it will only work if we ban the idiots who would want to set up commitee meetings every five minutes to debate 'form of attack' etc... and have a coffee break every 2 hours, as we would never get anything done!! Likewise, we don't need foremen either, it would be a failed cause if it took 8 men to watch one man fighting for our cause!! Ban those people and we might have a chance!!!
Secret weapon (Up our sleeve) Get Jock F on our side and tell him the enemy are all called 'Nigel'!!

No. You still finish up with a government run by politicians.

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out?

Don't you know it's gonna be
Alright?
Alright?
Alright?

You say you've got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We are doing what we can
But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is, brother, you'll have to wait

Don't you know it's gonna be
Alright?
Alright?
Alright?

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You'd better free your mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow

Don't you know it's gonna be
Alright?
Alright?
Alright?
Alright?
Alright?
Alright?
