OK so if you have a newer car that you want to keep that way. you need to in the winter wash your car enough to keep all the salt rock off the bottom. when you are driving through snowy areas that have been salted. salt will rust your car if left on it were talking mainly about the bottom

you should before winter (first frost) wax your car by hand it makes a huge difference so wash it dry it then hand wax it use something like Platinum turtle wax you will notice a big difference if you use it
follow the instructions use brand new towels do the same thing that the karate kid did in the movie
but let it sit on there till you get the whole car covered in wax
then go back and buff it in till really shiny you will know \
do not do it in the sun
this wax will protect your car make sure when you wash it your remove all dirt before waxing YOU SHOULD NEVER LET ALOT OF DIRT SIT ON YOUR CAR you can protect your car with carpet squares over the windows to keep from having to scrape them when it snows and the longer you own your car the more products you will find and the more little things you will find to do for it trust me

If it is garaged not very often. If it is Black hardly ever and when you do be sure to rinse of first as you can put more scratches on it and make it look worse than it was when dirty. Otherwise wash it only when it needs it because as like anything if you are rubbing the paint the more you are wearing it away but of course it is not apparant for many years.

if you leave the car out side you should wash the paint work as much as you can because the paint will get in ground dust in it and the paint will fade in odd ways like if you got sun screen and righten a word on your body and went out side you would get sun burn every where you have the sun screen
but don't wash you engine bay two many times water can get inside the rubber boots and rust then you have a lot of electrical probs hope this helps

The rain isn't WASHING your motor vehicle. flow out with a paper towel AFTER the rain ends, and wipe it for the time of your motor vehicle. it is going to nevertheless be grimy. in case you like a sparkling motor vehicle ... flow out with a bucket, sponge & cleansing soap throughout the time of the rain typhoon! i flow to the motor vehicle wash (possibly as quickly as each week). i admire a sparkling motor vehicle! and that they vacuum the interior too!!!
