Of course, but Satan is not necessarily a bodily being, rather can incarnate if he were to so choose. Satan is a concept more than a corporeal being, and basically means the Accuser or the Deceiver. It is my understanding, from theological studies, that Satan is subordinate to Lucifer, or at most reflections of Lucifer. Others believe that Satan and Lucifer are the same.
I'll skip the part about the Babylonian Captivity and the Demiurge of Yezidism. Although that is quite fascinating, it took me months of study to understand the role of the Demiurge, Shai'tan.
It is believed that the purpose of Satan is to test humanity, and to create spiritual entropy within an individual or group.
