Through:
Unpractical Means:
-our government's current method of paying of older debt with new debt. (treasury bills/bonds/notes)
-inflation, printing of more currency--increasing circulation of dollars
Practical Means:
-increase exports, decrease imports
-increase/decrease taxes (determined by the Laffer curve)
-decrease government consumption (possibly through military cutbacks as the U.S. outspends all nations of the world combinded in military expenditures), increase national savings

Hmmm.... lets take a closer look at your statement and apply it to some truth oops.. I mean simple economics.
1. You do not want a government that is working on a surplus of money... this means the government is taking your hard earned money and holding on to it.
2. You cannot compain about SSecurity as the dems have used the social security money to finance other unnecessary projects.. you've probably heard of pork barrel before, get ready to hear about A TON more!
3. More money has flowed into the gov't due to tax cuts... more money in our pockets means more spending which in turn produces more tax revenue. Dems want to hike the taxes again which will cause the amount of taxes to go down because you will be poorer.
..make sense to you are do I need to type slower? Like I tell every lib I com across that doesn't know the truth.. push the off button on the remote, get am actual textbook on economics and read it. You will quickly realize how things work and how things are about to be f-ed up!

I'm afraid the debt is going to wind up being the responsibility of the tax payers.but if i had my way i would offer Saddam his country back for 5 trillion dollars.even though he is a piece of garbage and deserves to die,he had no weapons so therefore he was complying with the sanctions against his country.which means we had no right to attack his country.so its more beneficial to our country to make him this offer.there could also be provisions in the deal about terrorist attacks against the U.S. and a deal on oil and what ever.I'm sure he would take the deal,he has no choice.this is just an idea.and it is better than than having to continue to watch our soldiers and the Iraqi civilians die for something we started on false pretenses.

Bush means nothing. The National Debt's been steadily building up ever since the country was started.
By the way, does the national debt actually MEAN anything? :S

The economy was a major reason for the debt, not just Bush. When the economy starts pulling out the recession, the debt will shrink. The debt actually did shrink just last month.
