The tub is going into a three wall alcove. I want to tile the front since it'll look much nicer than the tub apron. I see pics in magazines but nothing explains repair issues.

The access doors do the trick. If you can, tile them separately, so that they retain the feel of the tub yet the door can be removed. You put these tiles on with mastik as opposed to masonry cement. I would cut them to look like the tub pattern continues on the door itself, so it tends to blend in rather than standing out.

You have to install an access door at the end of the tub the motors and other elements are on for future maintenance.
