Pluto is clearly a dog he can't walk talk or drive a car. What the f*** is Goofy? He has a cow for a girlfriend. He lives in Dogville. If he is a dog then why does Pluto get such a bum rap?

I know this much about him: He use to have a cow girlfriend named Daisy in very early Disney animated shorts. I grew up thinking he was a cow until Goof Troop and the Goofy movie came along. He lived in Dogville and was clearly being delivered to the viewer as being a dog. I believe that ol' Walt first introduced him as a cow and over the years the children went on to recognize him as a more familiar animal to them... a dog. Is that plausible?

Goofy is an anthrophomorphic dog. He has no relation to Pluto the dog. Goofy was used to be called Dippety Dog, making it more appropriate to his likeness.

Goofy is a dog-definitely. his son is a dog 2...pluto was probably made cuz mickey had to be portrayed as "normal" or something like that. i dunno.
