We live next to a rather large car yard, which has recently been developed and they have attached air conditioning units and cables to our wall (we live in a unit block). They also have a ridiculously bright spotlight positioned to shine directly into the block rather than on the yard. Do you know where we can go to get these matters resolved (other than local council who are about as helpful as **** on a bull)?
Australian Answers greatly appreciated ;)

The other tenants are of the same opinion (this is mostly what we talk about in strata meetings) but I don't think we should have to go to the expense of a solicitor when it seems a pretty basic case of boundary violation.

It certainly sounds like they are taking advantage of you and maybe others in the area. Find out if other property owners are disturbed by this situation. There is always strength in numbers.
My question would be, do you have the full rights to your property? Or have you conceded some rights in the contract you signed to own the property. You must have somewhere in the local government the files on each property in your area. Find out where this office is located and visit them by phone or in person and find out what your title says about your rights.
Good Luck!
