I must have missed the war vote on my ballot. People voted for change because they were not very happy with Mr. Bush's and his congress's policies. The war was the main policy people were voting against, there were many others. His spending for one. Corruption was another, four republican congressmen resigned in less than a year. The shadow of Jack Abramoff was everywhere. Gasoline hitting three bucks. Illegal immigration into our country. His dismissal of the constitution. Torture, and on and on. There were many reasons, the war was the big one.

I don't believe the polls. I see here in California nothing was actually different at the polls. All incumbents were re-elected except one Republican, Pombo. And a new Republican for the 25 district was voted in. Pombo was voted out because he wasn't keeping his promises to the ranchers and farmers in the central valley of California. But the news media tried to say it was because of the Iraq war. WRONG.

I think most Americans know we can't run. I think the ones that are miss led by the their party will realize that Nancy, the house speaker doesn't know what she is talking about soon enough. I've seen a couple of her own disagree with her on Iraq already. She doesn't have a clue what is going on. She calls Iraq a "situation."

We are doing the right thing in Iraq. Pay attention to the good that has come of it. I hope we can get the job done. The people of the Middle East will be better off for it and so will the rest of the world.

Too bad the UN does not have America's vision. If we had the support of the rest of the world, as it should be, then this problem would be resolve more swiftly.

Tecnically no one voted against the Iraq war. Each voter voted FOR a candidate. Each candidate stands for a number of policies and beliefs which help the voter to make his or her decision. What the voters were asked to comment on at the exit polls may or may not have anything to do with how they cast their unique vote.

Now we are in the direction of a civil conflict that each and every physique started in the 365 days 632 advert or some the place approximately then. 1. There were no wmds in Iraq.

2. There was no connection between Iraq and 9-11.

3. There was no connection between Iraq and Al Qaida.

4. Iraq posed little to no threat to the US.

5. Other countries are in a greater crisis than Iraq, so the idea of "democracy" as a reason for the war was obviously false (Saudi Arabia is not a democracy - and their religious police ordered 15 young girls back into a burning building to their deaths because they were not dressed properly to be seen in public).

6. Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush routinely lied about the progress of the war.

7. The prison abuses in Abu Garab and the detainment of prisoners in Gitmo violated international law and US law in a number of areas, including torture and mistreatment.

8. Taking prisoners to secret CIA prisons and torturing them is against international law.

9. Hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis have died in the process, along with thousands of American troops.

well because they belive that killin is worng......But did you know that if you take the troops out of Iraq there will be more KILLING' here then there is there!!!! But nope people don't think about that at all they always have to look at what they belive and don't want to expand in other thoughts and look into what other people think....see me I used to think that Bush was wrong for sending all those troops over there, until i had some one sent over there and come back with story over story about the things that people were over there for and I learnd that if they did not stop the people from comin to America that there wud be NO MORE AMERICA!!! if that helps at all.....People just need to learn how to think about the good and NOT always on the bad.....!!! The majority of people who vote for anything, or disapprove of anything do so because they do not do the research, and only listen to what is being played on the icreasingly liberal broadcast media. They listen to what their friends tell them, and they believe everything they are told. They are voting on their friend's or family's opinions, and do not want people to think theya re war-mongers or for people being killed.
Beore the rash of hate responses start, I want you to re-read my answer and notice that I made no personal attacks on ANYONE or ANY beliefs... I very simply made a statement about human nature. I also want you to realize that I did not discredit anyone's personal thoughts or beliefs.
I will be up front and tell everyone that wants to listen that I- initially- supported the war whole heartedly, as did 98% of the Democrats in power who had access to all of the same intelligence the Administration did. I do not, now, agree with the manner in which it is being fought. Many of the arguments that people have made against the war have been shown to be the exact opposite (which happens on BOTH sides of this discussion).
Most people, also, do not hear about the GOOD things that are coming out of this conflict in the Middle East. The hospitals are 100% open, as opposed to 35% before the war. ALL children are able to go to school, and have school supplies (thanks to Gary Senise and a few other Holywood-types). The infrastructure is better than it was during the previous goverenment. And so many other things.
Many people also do not listen when the news people mention in passing that Al Qaida admits to having as many as 2,000 people in Iraq fighting the coalition forces. They also do not hear from their friends that Al Qaida has made threats against the White House and other American Targets.

Anyways... that is just my opinion. You are entitled to yours if you do not agree. BTW... for the record, I have neighbors and friends that have been killed and injured in the fighting, and my brother is going back in April, so I am also seeing this from a personal angle that many others might not be.

Because they want to sleep well at night by knowing that there is no blood on their votes. Also, the war is the pure waste of money.

Because now that we have tried Sadaam, and NOT found any WMD's there is not a clear goal or purpose to be there. Yes, we all want to fight terrorism....but we feel the troops in Iraq would be more useful elsewhere.
