His real name is Ice Thomas McClung. He didn't think the McClung sounded very "black", so he went by Ice-T.

Tracy "Ice-T" Marrow (born February 16, 1958)[1] is an American rapper, rock musician, author, and actor. He was instrumental in creating gangsta rap and rapcore. His music is both politically aware, like that of Public Enemy, and nihilistic[citation needed], like that of N.W.A.. hate rap, cant stand anything to do wtih rap;
ice t used to be a drink, not a nick name one gave oneself.
I think I will give myself a nickname, perhaps stud_muffin... or stud_puffin if that ws already taken,.... or perhaps nick_me..... or me_name_me...
that is the nice thing about giving yourself a nick name.
