Usually it can tell about 2 weeks or so, the cycle time would usually be 28 days, taking into concideration of your ovulation dates and so on. Now adays it states that you can test 3 days before your missed period to see if you are....

The only way you can find out how far along you are is by going to the doctor. If they offer to do the lab work b4 your appointment then go for it or see if it is an option. I found out when they did blood test to see how much hormone I had in my blood. I found out the next day after the tests. They have some due date calculaters online if you want to check it out. It can give you an idea but just an idea.

I found out two weeks before i missed my period this last time with one of those tests.
