How would anyone on here be able to answer that question? I say ask and with so just because I'm black doesn't mean I can explain why other black people do what they do. The next time you hear someone say axe or wif why don't you walk up to them and ask them why. Problem solved.

I think if you truly looked at it, you would realize that most Americans butcher the English language regularly.
White people have no increased mastery of the language.
This is their world; and others have to fit their profile in order to be accepted as normal.
When White people use the word "like" excessively, nobody cares.
Unfortunately, and as in most cases, Black people get the credit and are most widely ridiculed for grammatical mishaps.
I guess we make good targets for poking fun.

Apparently not because there are an awful lot that do this...
They sound illiterate, like people who cuss all the time or say "like" or "know what I'm sayin" every other word.

Well seeming "stupid" is really a matter of opinion. I believe they pronounce certain words that way because it is a cultural thing...you know each race has its own cultural "thing"...look around...you'll see it.
The way you speak or act may not seem different or stupid to you because it is part of who you are.

You seem to forget that the black people, as you refer of them are human beings of different skin color than white. It does not matter how a person uses their verbal skills, the improtance is to treat any human as a unique life source to this planet and look at yourself and your mannerisms.
