I was very young and I threw a tantrum in a store because I wanted a candy bar .My mother grabbed me by the hand and walked me straight out the door.No chocolate bar.Straight home and to my room. No desert or snacks for a week.I hated it and never done it again. She knew what she was doing.

No way, tantrums were not tolerated in our family. Even at a very young age I understood that. Has made me wonder every time I'm out shopping and I see a 3 year old making Mummy and/or Daddy dance the dance what changed.

I have been a nanny for two girls who threw major tantrums if they didn't get their way and THANKED my parents for not letting me throw tantrums when I was little. It just wasn't accepted behavior. If I ever started throwing a tantrum I was taken to my room, put on my bed, and told that I could come out when I was finished. I am going to follow this same policy with my children.

Yes I did, and I'm ashamed of it now. Sometimes I was punished, but most of the time I got my way. That's why I did it, cause I was mostly allowed to. Don't think I let my kids act the way I did though. I try to teach them self control and how to deal with their anger in a better way.

Nope, I have never thrown a tantrum because I knew if I did my mom or dad wouldn't put up with it. They would of really whipped me!

I didn't throw tantrums. It just wasn't my style. I was the weird kid who was extremely shy and tried to escape everyone's notice. Maybe being youngest of four kids had something to do with it.
