In what respect are you talking.
Why are we in IRAQ after weapons of mass destruction havent been found all this time? right or wrong?
why are politicians and celebrities get away with stuff poorer people go to jail for? right or wrong?
Best way to answer what is right and what is wrong is to follow the golden rule...treat others as you would treat yourself
You do that, and everything works itself out.
why dont you steal?
because you wouldnt want anyone to take what belongs ot ou right?
What if that person steals to feed his kids?
Wouldnt you do what you had to to feed your kids?
Dont kill anyone else?
because you wouldnt want anyone to kill you
what if your husband beat and raped you?
wouldnt you kill that person if they did it to you.
Hope I illustrate the point, but it is very difficult nowadays when so many people try to justify their actions.
Well its not right if its not right, plain and simple.
Councilman doing dugs while on duty, shouldnt be able represent the people, plain and simple.
Since U.S. is freedom state, the lawyers politicians seem to dictate whats allowed and whats not allowed, which is different that whats right and whats not right.
They get away with murder, thats ALLOWED
But it aint right?
Treat others as you would want to be treated -- can never go wrong with that as your guide

Is it very difficult to draw a line between right and wrong. We can only go with what we have been thought through out our childhood and school days, what our own uprbing is like and how we were taught to look at different situations in life. What is right to me, maybe be very wrong to you.
So what it boils down to is - how we look at it and also it can be this saying that some of us might follow - "By your actions, you tell the world to treat you the way you want to be treated."

The golden rule doesn't really work if one's goal is to get to heaven by any means possible, including murdering disbelievers or simply disobeyers and following the contradictions in the translated version of a two millennia old book.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethic_of_reciprocity
quote:
=========================
The ethic of reciprocity or "The Golden Rule" is a fundamental moral principle found in virtually all major religions and cultures, which simply means "treat others as you would like to be treated." It is arguably the most essential basis for the modern concept of human rights. Principal philosophers and religious figures have stated it in different ways:
"Love your neighbor as yourself." — Moses (ca. 1525-1405 BCE) in the Torah, Leviticus 19:18
"What you do not wish upon yourself, extend not to others." — Confucius (ca. 551–479 BCE)
"What is hateful to you, do not to your fellow man." — Hillel (ca. 50 BCE-10 CE)
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." — Jesus (ca. 5 BCE—33 CE) in the Gospels, Luke 6:31; Luke 10:27 (affirming of Moses)— Matthew 7:12
"Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you." — Muhammad (c. 571 – 632 CE) in The Farewell Sermon.

On a personal level, 'reason' distinguishes right and wrong, good and bad.
A collective public opinion of 'reason' defines what is socially acceptable ideals of right and wrong.
The adminstrative level utilise such ideals of right and wrong and establish it into a set of regulations which is known as 'law'.
On an international level, 'law' becomes the standard for right and wrong itself.
What is right and wrong to you depends on which perspective you want to see things from.

What is legal may be morally wrong, such as hiring a prostitute and having sex while you are married.
What is illegal may be morally right, such as Rosa Park who refused to give up her seat and was arrested.
We are humans and I can honestly say that we are more inclined to determine what is right and wrong by what is moral and what is immoral.

basically, we don't
that's why we invent social structures to give credence to "proper" behavior...
God and religions; Courts and the law, "secular humanism"-which is a poor derivative of Kant's Categorical Imperative; Morality and Ethics; the "golden rule";.....
as to the question of whether there is an "ultimate" right or wrong...just witness what Islamic fundamentalist terrorists are doing in the name of "righteous" behavior
