The "oil" in the coolant system is caused by a cylinder head gasket failure. Many times a engine performance problem exist along with the gasket failure. The repair shoud not be to exspensive,approx. 5 to 7 hundred. Seek a reputable mercedes exp. shop for the repair. Good luck!

Had the same problem with a '93 190E. Head gasket. Get yer credit card out...

because u blew youre head gasket or your heads are blown up , get it fixed fast, or you might of cracked youre heads or moter thats the only way that oil mixes in your water sorry hope you know how to fix this problem , hope my answer helps u out jeanette

almost always cyl head gasket how ever in past 15 or so years i have had 2 of these that had cracked head castings [showed up in machine shop pressure test] do this before resurfacing, if cracked it will have to be replaced and don't forget to replace mono-valve insert[ heater valve] as oil in the coolant always gummed these up.

If it is really oil and not anti-freeze it is a sign you've blown a head gasket.
