it seems to me that they are gettting pretty crappy as far as im concerned.. the older episodes are great . but the newer ones kinda suck .. who agrees ??

I agree, but I think that they have been milking the show for all its worth, for years now. I think I started noticing a drop in the quality of the episodes after the 5th season. Also, the family used to be a normal American family which suffered from actual problems people can somewhat relate to. Also, the characters were not as ludicrous (for example, Homer was not an bumbling fool, but was shown as a father who was trying his hardest for his family, but just not making the grade). I think that even new shows like family guy and American dad are pretty much ridiculous in their plots, but it is okay since they are built for that. However, Simpson's were supposed to be a comedy that could relate to real-life issues, but now they show has been reduced to stupid, repetitive humor.

I think stupid is a better description. I'm a HUGE Simpsons fans and I've watched the show slowly go downhill season after season. Some of the new episodes are ok but they don't hold a flame to the old ones.
