only legal law enforcement can check it -

and it is a violation of NCIC rules to tell you any results

ncic - national crime information center run by the FBI
it tags whoever makes the run

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aOgn4

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

There are several site offering cheap carfax reports but there is no guarantee
about their legitimacy. Although they are claiming they offer good Carfax substitutes
oftentimes the reports they provide are very basic. The only way to get a legitimate
Carfax for free or cheap is to ask the car seller. If that's not possible there are
reliable cheaper sources. It's free to to check the VIN if it exists, but you'll have to
pay for a vehicle history report. They're cheaper than CarFax and the information is just as good.
http://bit.ly/CHEAPCARFAX only $5 per report.

There are several sources for car history
- State DMVs. Very slow to respond. They only have details on registrations and brands - when a car has major damage a brand is added. Also, they will only have data for one state - if the car has moved they can't help you. Fees vary by state.

The best source is Carfax. They collect data from over 8000 sources - and still they don't have everything. However, it's the most comprehensive source.

For free - since it costs the DMVs and Carfax - nobody provides it for free.

When dealers buy Carfax reports they pay a price that allows them to redistribute the report - so ask the dealer. You'll find thousands for free on Cars and AutoTrader.

The consumer unlimited account specifically states reports can not be distributed/shared as you requested. If caught, the account holder will be charged $19.99 per report.

So - essentially you don't want anybody to cheat you on the car - but you are quite willing to cheat Carfax.

this is how i did it, went to the DMV and got a VIN verification paper and called the local PD, non emerg. number, they send an officer to come look at car and at the VINs and they ran it, if something comes back theyll tell u if u ask.

if your looking for info about, if its been in a accident or such, u cant use the PD way, u have to get a carfax report at www.carfax.com but i can tell you know

VIN 1YVGE22A8P5223380
Year/Make/Model: 1993 MAZDA 626 DX/LX
Body Style: SEDAN 4 DR

carfax will give you everything you need to know about it, if it used to be a rent-a-car or how many accidents it been in or how many times its been to the dealer for fixes
