In Australia, our TV networks have more American programmes than local ones. I hear American accents all the time and can appreciate the subtle differences between some and the somewhat less subtle differences between others. It intrigues me that American accents are so unyielding (i.e. don't lend themselves to immitating other accents because they're too strong). And I must admit some American accents (the ones that aren't too strong) can add something to a voice that's already deep and sexy. That said, what do you think of Australian accents? :)

It's not really all that fascinating an accent really. I hear it all the time on the television. It's kind of boring.

I think americans talk slower than australians and they put the emphasis on different letters, like R.
