Okay another question from me... it's kind of gross so I only want answers from experienced pregnant women. I am 17 weeks pregnant and in the middle of me and my hubby having intercourse, a white bugery string came out. I know that your supposed to have a dicharge but how much is too much. The reason why I am asking is because I am not sure what a mucus plug looks like. So should this discharge be so thick and how much is too much for how far along I am?

This is the time in your pregnancy when vaginal discharge really starts-a-flowin! It is probably nothing if there is no blood or pain associated with it. Pregnancy really throws a lot of unexpected yummies at you that they don't talk about at the beauty salon! I just read about the discharge again last night in my book and I assure you it's nothing. I'm also preggers, second time around 18 months, and this is totally normal! When you loose your plug, it's very distinctive and sooooooo gross, you will definitley know it!

You should call your doctor if you are concerned. However, if the discharge is white and mucus like, it's most likely normal if it isn't followed by painful cramps and bleeding. You should expect more white mucus and/or milky discharge through the rest of your pregnancy. Congratulations! I'm almost positive it's NOT an infection because your discharge would then be yellow or green with a bad odor, you'd also experience a burning sensation while urinating and itching. So, don't worry about it being an infection. Sounds like what you have is normal.

It sounds like you have a infection (super common during pregnancy) , you should not be lossing mucus plug for more than 15 weeks. Call your OB in the morning, tell them you may have a infection. DO not hesitate, a infection can affect baby if untreated!

Mucus plugs are not GREEN. They are clear, that's something I wouldn't worry about it's probably just discharge mixed with your GREAT EXPERIENCE.Don't worry, doesn't sound like a infection either.

Unless you have a bloody discharge I would not worry about this. If you feel cramping call your doc.

Try not to worry, most new moms are anxious but most do just fine.
