I've read all the issues, but still don't have any idea what "52" refers to. Any theories on this or any of the other mysteries (Supernova, Skeet, etc)?

- Examples of references to "52" in the comic:

1) The Red Tornado's last words are "It's coming! 52! 52!"

2) The atomic timelock in Rip Hunter's bunker is set to open on midnight, January 1, 52 B.C.

3) His chalkboard chalkboard is headlined with "Time is Broken" and peppered randomly with "52."

4) The Dominators say "fiffdetuuu" as they discuss their bio-weapon being delivered to Earth.

5) During a meeting of the Guardians of the Universe regarding Superboy Prime, Ganthet says, "So we have all come to the same conclusion. The need for the Green Lantern Corps has become quite clear," and all of them reply, "52."

I'm not sure what the '52' is, but do you think it could be linked to the Source Wall? All the greatest and most-hungy scholars tried to obtain the ultimate knowledge and were interred in the Wall. could the Wall break into, say, 52 chunks and threaten all creation? Then again it's just my theory lol.

I'm not very well versed in DC comics, but I believe that the Infinite Crisis somehow either caused time to leap forward one year, or certain heroes disappeared for a year. A lot of popular DC series ran "One Year Later" issues a few months back.

Since there are fifty-two weeks in a year, and the majority of the DC universe seemed to shift forward in time one year, the title is appropriate. It also works nicely to reference the fact that the comic is released weekly.

The 52 series fills in the missing pieces as far as this year-long gap is concerned. Whether or not it will lead into some larger event for the DC universe is probably a question asked too soon.

I'm not sure who or what 52 is but Booster Gold was blamed for it in an earlier issue of 52. It could possibly have something to do with Skeets since he seems to have gone a little berserk since the death of Booster.

"52" is DC planning ahead. They are getting everybody talking about their newest crossover months before they even reveal what it is. If the Gaurdians are saying "It's the reason for the Corps" I hope it's big. Maybe it has to do with Starro coming back in the new Justice League of America title.
